<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Directions:</strong> Take I-84 to exit 64.  Proceed north on HWY 30 to the first 4-way  stop (if you hit the bridge toll booth you have gone too far) then take a right  heading west.  Best Western is located at  the end of this access road.  Follow the  signs to packet pickup.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Time:</strong> 6:00 AM to  7:00 AM</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Directions:</strong> Take I-84 to exit 63.  Proceed north on 2<sup>nd</sup> Street  heading towards the river.  At 4 way stop  take a right onto Riverside Drive, then left onto 2<sup>nd</sup> Street and  finally a left onto Portway Ave.  Expo  building on the left.</p>

<h3 style="text-align: left;"><strong>Race Day Parking</strong></h3>
<p style="text-align: left;">Ample parking  is available to competitors both at the start line and finish line.  Parking at the starting line is available at  the beach access parking just north of the starting area and the gravel lot next  to the starting line.  Parking at the  finish is available in front of the DMV lot and at the Marina Museum up to 1:00  PM.  The total distance between the start  line and finish line is three tenths of a mile.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: left;"><strong>Race Start</strong></h3>

<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Half  Marathon, Team and Walk 8:30 AM</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The race  start is located on the new 2<sup>nd</sup> Street extension next to the Expo  Center.  The race will start on time so  be sure to show up to the start line 5 minutes prior to the start of your race  to assure you are ready and are able to hear final race instructions.  When the run starts competitors will be given  the entire southbound lane of 2<sup>nd</sup> Street and eastbound lane of State  Street.  DO NOT CROSS THE CENTER  LINE.  After the 4 way intersection of  HWY 35 and State Road runners will now be on open roads and must run opposite of  the flow of traffic up to the Mark Hatfield Park.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: left;"><strong>Course Info</strong></h3>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Aid  Stations</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Aid stations  will be placed on average every three miles along the course.  Aid stations will consist of restrooms or  porta potties, water, Gatorade, GU and Gorge Delight Bars.  Please make sure and discard all cups within  the aid station zone and not out on course.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Vehicle  Traffic </strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Portions of  the course are open to vehicle traffic.   Please follow rules and regulations regarding these sections of the  course.  Runners are mandated to run  against the flow of traffic except were designated by cones or traffic control  signs.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: left;"><strong>Course Details</strong></h3>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Marathon</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Run will  proceed on the Columbia Gorge Scenic Highway to the city of Mosier.  Then continue east to Dell Road were they  will make a large loop heading back to Mosier and retracing the course to Hood  River.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Half  Marathon</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Run will  proceed up to the Mark Hatfield State Park Trail.  Once on the trail you will continue on to the  east end of the trail where the turn around will be located just past the Twin  Tunnels.  Aid Station and porta potties  will be located at the turn around.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Team  Competition</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">For the team  competition runners will follow the same course as the half marathon.  The first runner will start with the half  marathon out to the turn around at the <strong>east</strong> end of the Mark Hatfield State Park.  The 2<sup>nd</sup> leg runner will need to  drive out to the turnaround location and check in at the team transition  tent.  To get there get back on I-84  heading east to Mosier. Take the Mosier exit and follow signs to Historic  Columbia River Highway State Trail. You will be taking a left and then an  immediate left.  Parking is available at  the East side trailhead, also called Mark Hatfield Trailhead (East end). Jog  back down road to the trailhead you passed driving to the parking lot. Head up  the old highway through open gates, jogging against the marathon runners heading  east.  Please check in with official that  is there. Teams will receive a running arm band which they will transfer from  one runner to the other before heading back to the finish.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>All Races  (Returning)</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">After passing  HWY 35 and State Road, as you enter Hood River make sure you stay on the right  side of the road and run in the designated path that has been coned off for  participants.  Before crossing I-84 take  a right and follow the pedestrian path and signs to the finish.  You will pass under freeway. Mileage markers  will be placed out for each mile of the marathon and half marathon events.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: left;"><strong>Race Numbers</strong></h3>
<p style="text-align: left;">Bib numbers  will be issued to all competitors.  Bib  numbers must be worn on the front of your shirt so that they are clearly visible  to officials on course as well the finish line timing crew.  Numbers will be assigned by the following  categories.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">1-100  Marathon</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">101-299 Half  Marathon Run</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">300-350 Half  Marathon Walk</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">350-399 Half  Marathon Team</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Post Race  Support</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">We will greet  you at the finish line with a medal, warm drinks, bananas, hot soup and  bread.  We will also be serving local  apples and pears.  There will be plenty  of us around to assist.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;"><strong>Post Race  Awards</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">We ask for  you to please stay for awards. They will be presented at 11:00 for half marathon  and 12:00 for full marathon. There are prizes for the top three overall winners  in the half and full marathon. We also have prizes for the top 3 in each age  category, increments of five years. They are worth the wait!</p>
